What's the best investment you can make?

This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for May 27, 2008:
For me it would be investing in my Passion of the moment, whatever it is. Sometimes that will be family, other times that will be my career, and still other times it will be my musical creativity.
What I mean by "investing in my Passion" is to put forth, in the moment, all of the focus and energy I can, to achieve the best possible result. Of course, one needs to have Passion to begin with, otherwise it is just so much going on automatic. Just going through the motions. But people see and feel the difference if you interact with them with Passion. That is just not reserved for the good side of things either. When I become passionately disgusted with the service I'm getting from a company, then I passionately let them know my concerns. Sometimes they don't appreciate that - and sometimes it actually shakes them up enough that they, in return, passionately get the lead out and do something helpful.
The idea is to put the whole self into being, doing and having - Passionately. That's the investment part. I also tend to like passion in other people - that aliveness that tells you that - for right or wrong - these people will get something done. So I also appreciate the investment of passion by others.

sounds like an amazing state of balance and presence to me :)
oh no, working on judgements and although this one was positive - darn it! - there i go again!
Hi Ohmsmom: Thank you for your comment - and I'll rescue you from your idea that you're making a judgement - even a good one - I'd say it was more like a good moment of observation. ;-)
The operative words in the question were “can make” - and certainly I strive, but often miss the mark. So, let's just say I'd really like to passionately embrace that state of balance and presence. If you notice - most of my “action” words were in the passive future tense. Except for the “passionately disgusted” comment - I seem to carry passion into less positive situations much more easily than into the positive ones. Still - working on making the effort and investment in myself to move into a more positive light.
